Language students celebrated the 226th anniversary of the signing of
the U.S. Constitution by reciting the preamble to the Constitution, re-writing
the preamble in their own words, and completing an essay on the how our nation,
in recent years, has sought to achieve the six goals set forth in the preamble.

NEJ Journalism students present copies of the book Shhhhhh, We’re Writing the Constitution to East Jones Elementary principals Becky Stewart, Sylvia Busby, and Mike Lightsey in recognition of the 226th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. The Nahoula Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution provided the books and educational Constitution packets for the 4-6 grade history teachers and the school library. Cindy Rice, Nahoula regent, teaches the Northeast Jones journalism students.
